Friday 12th – Sunday 14th September at Ripon Racecourse
Following it’s move last year to the beautiful Garden Racecourse of the North, the Darlington Dog Show is preparing to stage it’s Annual Championship Dog Show at the wonderful venue this month.
Taking place over three days, the show will welcome exhibitors from all over the British Isles. Friday 12th September is the opening day when all the Hounds, Terriers and Utility breeds will be in attendance.
Saturday 13th September welcomes the Working and Pastoral Breeds to show their prowess, and on the final day, Sunday 14th, the Gundog and Toy breeds.
The final round takes place to choose the overall Best In Show and as well as the Best Puppy and Best Veteran. The show is a Crufts qualifer and winning dogs will have the opportunity to enter the most famous dog show in the world held in March 2015.
The show field is well laid out and convenient for all visitors who want to watch pedigree dogs at their best. The site provides a good selection of fast food stalls at a reasonable cost and a varied range of trade stands stocking a myriad of goods and accessories aimed at both people and their pooches. The car parks are easy to access and are charged at £10 per day per car regardless of size or number of passengers and best of all, entry to the show is FREE!
For visitors who are perhaps thinking of becoming dog owners or taking part in dog showing as a hobby, a member of the Kennel Club will be on hand to provide a tour of venue, explain procedures and answer any questions.
The show is a fantastic day out for anyone who is interested in dogs and families, and the Darlington Dog Show Society looks forward to welcoming all to it’s second year at Ripon…don’t forget to put this year’s date in your diary!
