Are dogs allowed at the racecourse?

As with other racecourses, in view of the potential danger to dogs from the racehorses the course policy is to exclude entry to dogs for their own and others safety.

Are there baby changing facilities at the racecourse?

Ripon has both baby changing and nursing facilities located in the Ladies paddock toilets. High chairs are also available in the restaurant upon request.

What time do the gates open?

The gates open two hours before the start of each race meeting, on a feature race day (Saturdays) gates open from mid-day. This gives you plenty of opportunity to arrange to meet up with friends, enjoy some food and drink and familiarise yourself with the layout and facilities at the racecourse.

Are children allowed at the racecourse?

Children accompanied by an adult are made very welcome at Ripon, under 16’s are admitted for free. We have a permanent grassed playground area with swings, roundabout and slide. At many meetings there are additional attractions such as rides and bouncy castles.

On the first Monday in August we have a special Children’s Day meeting with lots of added activities for families. The date for 2011 is Monday 1st August.

Please note that children under 18 are not allowed to place bets in accordance with government gambling legislation.

If I pre-order my tickets when will they arrive?

If your order has been placed more than 5 working days before the race meeting you are now guaranteed your tickets in the post, we try to send out all tickets where possible and ensure they arrive with you at least 3 working days before the race day. IMPORTANT: If you require next day or urgent delivery please contact the racecourse office on 01765 530530 and this can be arranged, an additional charge will be made for this. Our working hours are Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm.

Which Enclosure should I go into?

It depends on the type of occassion you are coming for. The Course has basic betting and food / bar facilities but great for families and to have a picnic. The Paddock has access to the parade ring, bandstand and a variety of food outlets and betting facilities. The Club has access to all public areas, including the Paddock area, but has some seated grandstand viewing as well as prominent finish post viewing. To find out more Click here

Are there disabled facilities?

Ripon are continually working to improve their disabled facilities. There are disabled toilets and most of the bars and restaurants are accessible for wheelchair users. Many disabled visitors have commented that the ability to bring a car into the course enclosure and park directly adjacent to the track is a great advantage over many other courses. Can I bring a picnic?

Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic into all the enclosures except the Club Enclosure

Can I bring alcohol onsite with me?

Alcohol is strictly forbidden to be brought onto the site. There are bars with alcoholic beverages available to purchase. No persons under 18 years of age will be served or allowed to consume alcohol on these premises

Is it possible to book a restaurant table in advance?

In order to guarantee a table in the club dining room it is recommended that you book in advance by calling our catering division on 0113 287 6387

What is the dress code?

We ask that people in the Club Enclosure dress respectably and in smart/casual attire. Our interpretation of smart/casual is no- blue denim, sportswear, trainers, t-shirts or shorts.

There is no formal dress code for the Paddock or Course Enclosure but we do ask that people still dress in a manner of taste and decency. Bare chests are not acceptable.
